The purpose of the Freedom Armory
museum is to be able to exhibit the collections of our benefactors to the public. We have six people who have graciously lent
to the museum collections of equipment in which they have dedicated their time and expence into refurbishing to look
like new.
The oldest piece we currantly have on hand here is an Sd.Kfz.101
or German Panzer 1 Ausf. A Late. Ausf. or Ausferung means model. This was first built in 1936 and was once the backbone of
the German Army and was used during the invasion of Poland in 1939. Although by then it was considered obsolete it spent the
rest of the war as a training tool.
The "newest" piece we have is an M26 Pershing tank. Built during
the final months of WW2 the Pershing was used extensively during the Korean conflict. The M26 series tank was the first of
the "Patton" line of tanks ending with the M60 series which saw hostilities in the first Iraq conflict in 1991.
Military history is the purpose of our museum. Along with all there
is to see here please don't forget that it requires a lot of effort to keep something like this museum going. Along with our
benefactors we have come up with the sum of a $10.00 donation required for adults to enter.
